Did you happen to see the September issue of VIP Wichita Magazine? We were thrilled to be asked to participate in the Fall Fashion Preview. We had so much fun working with a talented group that included Bonnie Bing, who put the whole project together. We always love working with photographer Kacy Meineke, who we work with regularly on our own photo shoots. You’ve seen her fantastic work in our front windows.
“We had a blast working with Bonnie! She’s the best!” said co-owner Tod Ernst. “It was great to bring all the energy back from the days of doing shoots with Bonnie for the Eagle.”
If you haven’t been to the Bartlett Arboretum in Belle Plaine, you really owe to yourself to see this beautiful historic garden. The Arboretum was gorgeous and it was a beautiful day to be outside.
Of course, thanks to our talented team who participated: Tod, Graham, Jamie, Klay, Hannah, Suzie and Emma for giving more than 100% on this fun project.
Here are some behind the scenes pictures of the shoot:
We love to give back to the community by participating in specially selected events and fundraisers where we can use our talents. We have two big events coming up that we’re excited to share with you! Hope to see you at these events.

Wichita Art Museum Art Park Anniversary Saturday, September 24 from 5 to 8 pm
We are honored to be invited back to participate in the Wichita Art Museum first anniversary party of the grand opening of their beautiful Art Garden. We had so much fun last year creating botanical hair styles for the opening party; we can’t wait to show you what we have planned for this year’s celebration! We’ve been challenged to come up with fashions that coincide with the opening of the new fall exhibit, Shiny, Sticky, Smooth: Pop Art and the Senses, so you know it’s going to be good. Evening festivities start at 5 pm with local food trucks and fun in the garden. We go on at 7 pm, with surprise musical entertainment to follow. The event is free, open to the public and includes free admission into the museum to see the new exhibit, so there’s no reason not to be there.
Wine Women & Shoes on Friday Friday, October 21 from 6:30 to 10:30 pm
We’re excited to participate in the Wine Women & Shoes fundraiser for the new Wesley Children’s Foundation. This event raises money to help support families while their child is in the Wesley Children’s Hospital. The evening will include shopping, entertainment, fun surprised and of course a fashion show with hair and makeup by our own Planet Hair team. Tickets are $100 or $150 for a VIP ticket. Tables for eight are also available. Get more information and tickets at www.winewomenandshoes.com/wichita.
Environmental damage is the most common cause of skin damage like dark spots, loss of tone, fine lines and wrinkles. That’s why it’s so important to make daily protection a habit. Let Nature help defend your skin’s natural beauty with sheer, weightless defense against the elements that damage skin. Great for all skin types, add daily light guard™ to your skin care routine, over your morning moisturizer, to help defend against the elements that visibly damage skin every day.
New daily light guard™ has a spf of 30 with advanced technology to make its zinc oxide and titanium dioxide sunscreens glide on sheer and smooth—while plant-derived anti-oxidants help protect you against free radical damage from environmental elements. Zinc oxide and titanium dioxide are effective sunscreens because they create a physical barrier on the skin’s surface—helping protect skin from UVA and UVB rays. This is how Nature helps defend your skin’s natural beauty!
Help us congratulate Shauna! Advancing in our training program, Shauna has been promoted to New Talent Stylist, the next generation of rising stars at Planet Hair.Fully licensed and intensely focused on bringing you a great experience, our New Talent Stylists master advanced trends and techniques to help you look and feel your best.
Our team loves to learn new trends and techniques! Recently we had Aveda educators Alberto Rossell-Davis (color artist) and Susan Ford (cutting artist) in the salon for an inspirational class to help push our creativity, in both hair cutting and color. We learned some fun new geometric cutting and coloring techniques that mimic a prismatic effect to create three dimensional colors that shift in perspective when viewed from different angles. We had a blast and can’t wait to try out our new techniques!
Our stylists and clients love Aveda’s Invati line of hair care products for thinning hair. We’ve seen some incredible results! Now Aveda has created a new formula specifically for men.
Easy to use, there are only two everyday steps to make men’s hair feel stronger and look thicker. The Invati Men Nourishing, Exfoliating Shampoo exfoliates and refreshes the scalp as it conditions to help strengthen hair. The leave-in Invati Men Scalp Revitalizer instantly thickens the hair at the root, helping invigorate the scalp when massaged in.
Ask your stylist if Invati is for you and try it for yourself!
