Help us congratulate Klaiborne (Klay) on her promotion to New Talent Stylist!

Klaiborne has advanced in our training program and is ready to be part of the next generation of rising stars at Planet Hair.  She’s taking appointments on Thursdays from 2pm until 8pm and on Saturdays from 11am until 6pm. Klay is fantastic with haircuts, especially men’s cuts, and she loves doing perms. We love her fun personality and ability to make everyone she comes in contact with feel great.

Support the Earth

Every year during the month of April, Aveda salon and spa professionals work together to raise funds for grassroots organizations that address environmental issues around the world. With a goal to raise $4.5 million through their global network, this year Aveda’s campaign focuses on the protection of clean water.

On Sunday, April 1^st, Planet Hair is teaming together with the other Aveda salons in the Wichita area to raise funds global and local clean water projects with a Walk around The Waterfront. Starting at 10 a.m. we’ll meet at the Waterfront northeast parking lot for a nice four mile stroll around the Waterfront to raise money through sponsorships and celebrate Earth Day.

You can get involved and help us raise money in lots of different ways:

• Come join in the fun and walk with us! Register in advance at Planet Hair with a minimum sponsorship of $25 and get an Aveda Limited Edition Earth Month Candle.
• Sponsor us for the walk. Help us raise money with a donation of any size. With a donation of $25 we’ll give you a gift certificate for an eyebrow grooming that you can use yourself or give to your favorite unibrow.
• Bid in our silent auction. We’ve got fabulous items from Planet Hair and other local businesses for you to win. Bid early and bid often and do something good for Mother Earth.
• Buy raffle tickets. We’re raffling off an action packed Evening in Old Town that includes hotel, entertainment and lots of other fun surprises. Of course you’ll be looking your best for your night out with services from Planet Hair. Get one ticket for $5 or 6 for $25.
• Purchase an Aveda Limited Edition Earth Month candle for $12. All the proceeds go support clean water.

All proceeds go to the Audubon Mississippi River Initiative and Global Green Grants.

New Online Concierge Service

If you’ve been in lately, you’ve probably noticed that we’ve started doing some things a little differently. We’ve started using an online concierge service to streamline our communications and make it easier for you to get in touch with us, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Through our new service we’ll be able to:

• Get appointment reminders. Now you can confirm your appointment through email or text message, whichever you prefer. We’ll send you a message a couple days in advance with the specifics of your appointment. All you need to do is look over the message and respond to let us know “all systems are go” for your Planet Hair appointment reservation.
• Submit appointment requests. Doesn’t it seem like it’s the middle of the night by the time you remember to call us for an appointment? Now you don’t have to wait until we reopen to request an appointment. Just go to our website or Facebook page and request an appointment. We’ll get back to you as soon as we can with available times.
• Write online reviews. Share the love and let the world know how much you enjoy your experience at Planet Hair!
• Rate your service. After each appointment you’ll receive an email, asking you to provide feedback about your service with us. We love to hear ways we can make your service better.

And this is just for starters! We can’t wait to show you what else our new service can do to make your life easier and help us stay in better touch with you.

We’re pleased to announce that we’ve been honored for our business practices, recognized by Salon Today Magazine as one of the top 200 salons in the United States!

Salon Today Magazine editors poured over thousands of applications from salons across the U.S. to select the 200 salons they felt had the best salon management practices that contributed to a strong business. Salons were judged on overall growth and 10 different best practice areas. We were selected this year for our philanthropic work and compensation and benefit practices, making this the fifth year we’ve been honored.
